When a book is advertised as a Dexter meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith read, who can resist?
Thank you Berkley books for gifting me a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Synopsis from Goodreads: Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams, and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored. We look like a normal couple. We’re your neighbors, the parents of your kid’s friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with. We all have secrets to keeping a marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.
Let me first comment about how amazing this cover is! The reflectivity off the knife? PERFECTION. Secondly? WOW. This is one of those books where you have no idea what’s about to come at you until it hits. I think because I read a ton of psychological thrillers, I had the ending figured out pretty early on. But not in its entirety! This couple is completely crazy and you can’t stop reading to find out just how crazy they really are! It’s gruesome and dirty and irresistible. If I was watching this as a movie, I would be shoveling popcorn in my mouth every second in anticipation of what’s to come. It’s a good one! And for a debut writer? Even better!
