I’ve read a few books from this author before and have been hearing a lot of buzz about this one. I wanted to check it out for myself.
Thank you MIRA books for my gifted ebook in exchange for my honest review.
Synopsis: For fifteen years, Lexi and Jake have played the same six numbers with their friends. Over drinks, dinner parties and summer barbecues, the three couples have discussed the important stuff—kids, marriages, careers—and they’ve laughed off their disappointment when they failed to win anything. But then the unthinkable happens. There’s a rift in the group. Someone is caught in a lie. And soon after, six numbers come up that change everything forever. Lexi and Jake have a ticket worth millions. And their friends are determined to claim a share.
This is a slow burn, and one that I probably could have passed up from reading. I really wasn’t a fan of any of the characters in the story and felt like there was way too much drama going on. I’ll admit, the ending twist was entertaining, but it wasn’t worth the read in order to get to it. This is a re-release of this novel. If you have read it, I would love to hear your thoughts about it!
2.5/5 Stars
This was not her best book for sure. Too bad you started with this one.
