Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh

I read a lot of thrillers, but I don’t read a lot of courtroom crimes. There’s a lot of hype about this book and I’m all here for it!

Thank you Flatiron books for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

Synopsis: It’s the murder trial of the century. And Joshua Kane has killed to get the best seat in the house – and to be sure the wrong man goes down for the crime. Because this time, the killer isn’t on trial. He’s on the jury. But there’s someone on his tail. Former-conman-turned-criminal-defense-attorney Eddie Flynn doesn’t believe that his movie-star client killed two people. He suspects that the real killer is closer than they think – but who would guess just how close?

OH MY GOODNESS this was so good. It’s a little darker than I expected it to be, but it was worth every bit of it. I read this super quick because I just couldn’t stop! I will be reading a lot more of Steve’s previous and upcoming books. I’m sad I hadn’t heard more about him before! This is the fourth book in the Eddie Flynn Series, but you would never know it as it reads perfectly as a stand alone. These characters are so intense, I loved them so much! You could pick up on all their little tendencies just by the way it was written. You’re going to need to read this!

5/5 Stars
