Stars are my favorite shape. Star shaped tumors? Not so much. Astrid can agree with me on that one.
Thank you Fierce Reads for gifting me a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Astrid’s cancer has returned. That doesn’t mean they’re going to stop the fight, it just means that it looks a little different this time. There is a new treatment called cryopreservation where her body can stay frozen until a cure has been made. It sounds promising, but is it real? Is it the best decision to make? Join Astrid and her boyfriend and best friend as they journey together to see if they can beat the cancer this time around.
I’m a sucker for young adult cancer books. Why? I DO NOT KNOW. But the emotions are raw and real and I’m here for it. This book is written so beautifully, but it’s also sad. Duh, right? But, it’s so good! The chapters get shorter and shorter which eludes to a dramatic ending in the best way possible. Of course, be prepared with some Kleenex for this one. This brings a much needed perspective on life. You only live once. Never have a fear of missing out – take advantage of every day joys no matter how small.
