I’ve wanted to start bible art journaling for the longest time and have been on the search for the best bible to do it with. Here is where I came across the Illuminated Bible.
At first glance, this bible is absolutely stunning. The shimmering gold foil cover with the shiny gold edge painting is just breathtaking. It’s HEAVY but so sturdy. The pages themselves have a really nice thickness to them, but thin enough to make the book manageable to carry with you.
The art found within the pages of this bible are quite beautiful. They are almost too beautiful to mark-up! I love the classic gold designs put into this bible. It’s laced throughout the book whether they are full page prints or doodles between chapters.
The margins give you plenty of space to work with and the font is just the right size. It really is perfect for creating your own doodles, quotes, and artwork within the pages of the bible.
My only issue is that this bible is just so gorgeous, I really don’t want to mess it up. That’s not necessarily a problem to have, it’s mere personal preference. After having this bible for some time, I find that I would prefer an art journaling bible with black and white prints so I can color them in and personalize with my own touch (speaking as a person with absolutely no artistic talent). Regardless, I’m really excited to be an owner of one of these bibles and will use it accordingly.
