A Grave Calling by Wendy Roberts

I have to thank my mother for turning me onto Wendy Roberts. I also have to send a huge thank you to Wendy for sending me a copy of this book!

You all know me by now…I’m a huge sucker for mystery and romance…Guess what 🙂

Julie has a special talent. Every time she has a fishing rod in her hands, she pulls up a dead body. It’s not a talent you or I want, but it’s pretty helpful to the FBI. In fact, the FBI ends up coming to her, asking her for some help. Can she help solve the mystery of a serial killer on the loose? Can she stay safe while doing so? Is agent Garrett, the FBI agent who showed up at her door, enough to save her as well? Pay attention to their relationship together as well…it may surprise you!

Wendy is pretty excellent at having the reader at the edge of their seats through each chapter. I would read…get to the end of the chapter…then have to keep reading! I was hooked half way through the first chapter! Julie is such a spunky character! You don’t see that very often. I feel like most characters who have a “special power” end up being so meek…but Julie is quite the opposite. Wendy does such a wonderful job at recording such detail for the story. I appreciate that most in a skilled writer! This book has it all…family, best friends, romance, and a dog. It was perfectly well-rounded. It’s what most people would call a cozy mystery, but I sure felt a thrill while reading it. The ending made my jaw drop. It was totally not what I expected and I LOVE that. I felt this was an unpredictable read and I can’t wait to dive into the second book!
